Advosys mentioned in “Secure Coding”
I was just browsing though the books on O’Reilly’s Safari Books Online and came across Secure Coding: Principles & Practices by Mark Graff and Kenneth van Wyk.
Though it was published in 2003, I just now noticed that the authors listed our papers “Preventing HTML Form Tampering” and “Writing Secure Web Applications” in the Papers and Articles section, along with papers from such luminaries as Aleph1, Simpson Garfinkel and Eugene Spafford (the complete list is republished on securecoding.org).
Wow. Our little papers hardly deserve to be included in such a distinguished list. I wish I’d known about this back when the book came out… we could have used it in our marketing brochures!
By the way, I get access to Safari (which provides most O’Reilly books in searchable web form) via our membership in the Association for Computing Machinery. The ACM is one of the oldest professional organizations for computing. It offers members excellent benefits… the access to online books and training courses are alone are worth the membership fee.

Sorry I didn’t think to drop you a note while we were writing “Secure Coding”. I found your papers very interesting, and you folks fully deserve the place we gave you in the Bibliography. I hope success has found you in the intervening years.
Regards,
Mark Graff

Thanks very much for the compliment! It was a honor to be listed. Your book should be mandatory reading for every developer.
