Volunteer services

Advosys Consulting contributes to our community by offering our services free of charge to community and charitable organizations.

We can offer nearly any form of IT support, especially related to the Internet, security and web services. For example:

  • Internet and information security education (courses, presentations and mentoring).
  • Introductory through advanced computer courses and mentoring.
  • Assistance in selecting products and services.
  • Installation and support of firewalls, spam filters, anti-virus, VPNs, etc.
  • Installation and support of web servers, content management systems, application servers, and databases.
  • Business analysis to lower operating expenses.
  • Clean-up of spyware, viruses and intrusions.
  • Transitions from proprietary software to cost-effective Open Source solutions such as Linux and OpenOffice.org.

Because of the demands on our time, we have to be selective about which  organizations we can help. In general, organizations must be:

  • A registered Canadian charity (as listed by CCRA), or a non-profit or community group.
  • Located in the greater Ottawa-Carleton / Gatineau area
  • Not engaging in abusive marketing practices (see below)

Please Contact us to discuss what we can do for your organization.

Abusive marketing practices

In accordance with the Boulder Pledge and the guidance we provide to our clients, Advosys Consulting never purchases anything promoted through spam, including solicitations from charitable organizations.

We extend this policy to other abusive forms of marketing: telemarketing, junk faxes and junk messaging.

We do not provide any form of support to organizations, charitable or otherwise, who engage in abusive marketing practices.

Financial contributions

Please do not contact us for monetary donations.
